Ben's match report for Woodley at home

Molesey 3 v 3 Woodley

A pleasant evening and an expectant crowd turned up at Walton Road to see and entertaining game and a Molesey victory, only the second of the season, although they remain the only unbeaten side in the league!
Both teams looked as though they wanted to play an open game of football and this was evident from the first whistle as Molesey had good efforts from Olayinka, Wilkins and Boxall in quick succession.
Against the run of play and to the surprise of some, in the crowd, Woodley scored the opening goal when Shurville broke down the left stepped inside and slotted the ball past Wheller.
As the half progressed further goal attempts came and went for Molesey as Harlem Bouchez, made the Woodley goal keeper pull off a couple of Saves. Before the end of the first half Molesey could have gone further behind, but a good save by Wheller kept Molesey very much in the game!
As we kicked off the second half it was generally felt that the equaliser for Molesey was coming, and it was, as Olayinka scored a lovely goal into the corner of the net after a great run across goal. Woodley scored again when some poor defending was capitalised on and Clarke was on hand to slot the ball home.
On 60 minutes, in this Topsy turvy match Molesey drew level again when Boxall found himself in the Woodley penalty area with the ball at his feet. He steadied himself and then hit a rasping shot into the top of the Woodley goal to make the scores level at 2-2.
The goal scoring wasn’t finished as in the last ten minutes Haravi scored to see to make it an interesting last few minutes for Molesey to see if they could pull off this much needed win that has been hard to find as far this season. Sadly it was not to be as five minutes before the end the ball was played down the Molesey right wing and played into the penalty area for Shurville to score his second and make the final score 3-3,
This was a good and entertaining draw and the unbeaten record is still standing, however it is another two points dropped. Our luck must change and soon especially if Molesey are going to have a serious shot at promotion this season.
Let us hope this Saturday at Chalfont St Peter sees a change in fortune!
COME ON YOU MOLES!!
